“Suite” Talk Shop

BY BOB YEOMAN — With 280 amazing years of experience (cumulative years of service of the Maintenance Crew), the Maintenance department of the Embassy Suites® – Waikiki Beach Walk® is like no other! The maintenance of this five-year building is impeccable, thanks to the expertise of 17 remarkable, skilled professionals.

The Maintenance Crew enjoys a breakfast of ESH champions – manapua, boiled eggs and coffee – as a special mahalo from Chief Engineer, Reuben Nakagawa and Maintenance Manager Arnold Agustin. From l to r: Arthur Corotan, Adrian Ching, Villamor Tolentino, Byron Heap, Alfredo Encomienda, Elpedio Saycon and Richard Fernando. (Missing but not forgotten: Marcelino Baguyo, Archie Garcia and Jason Lee)

Two unannounced Quality Assurance Inspections happen every year to ensure that the Embassy Suites Brand Standards are met. Can you imagine the high expectations throughout the year that our Maintenance department exceeds?  Achieving above 90 percent for the overall condition of the hotel speaks for itself.

Embassy Suites is surrounded by restaurants, shops and a parking structure that spirals up into the building. We manage a Loading Dock that services all retail as well as the property. Aside from the many detailed and timely tasks that are required by State, City and the Embassy Brand, we are also responsible for an air conditioner chiller that services Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk and the Outrigger Reef on the Beach.

We are proud of each highly experienced, highly respected team member every day, every year; however, the month of January was especially dedicated to the Embassy Suites’ Marvelous Maintenance department to thank them for all that they do, all of the time!
