Barry Wallace, Chuck Shishido, Laurel Cates, Dr. Chuck Kelley and Ruthann Yamanaka

On May 19, the Outrigger ‘ohana gathered to bid aloha to Laurel Cates, who retired after 36 years of dedicated service. Barry Wallace, Dr. Chuck Kelley, Ruthann Yamanaka, Chuck Shishido, and Karen Villarmia expressed their appreciation on behalf of Outrigger Hotels & Resorts for her hard work and contribution and presented her with gifts of aloha.

Laurel was originally hired by Mrs. Courtney as a Telephone Attendant and has worked at several Waikiki properties over the years. She is looking forward to retirement and plans on traveling with friends and abroad, spending time in Maine, where she grew up, and visiting her granddaughter Caitlin (age 4). Laurel will miss the many friendships she developed over the years and wishes her coworkers the best.
