The Outrigger ‘ohana gathered at the OHANA Waikiki East on Tuesday, January 19, to honor and recognize Employees of the Quarter for the Fourth Quarter. David Carey, Barry Wallace, and Department Heads extended their congratulations and offered words of praise to all of the distinguished honorees and nominees offered words of praise to all of the distinguished honorees and nominees.

Jonathan Gelacio – Bell Person
Jonathan, who is currently working at the OHANA Waikiki West, is a 23-year Outrigger veteran and an outstanding Mea Ho‘okipa (Host). He is a team player who lives the values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a in all he does. He treats everyone with respect and Aloha. Jonathan provides our guests with excellent customer service and goes the extra mile to ensure their expectations are exceeded. His outgoing personality and warm and friendly smile has sealed his role as Mr. Aloha.

Huan Qiu Li – Housekeeper
Huan Qiu, who currently works at the Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, demonstrates our value of Accountability (Kuleana) by always completing his work in a timely and efficient manner. He utilizes his time wisely and consistently follows through on his assignments. Huan Qiu is always willing to take on additional work to meet operational needs and is well-respected by his coworkers and supervisors for being an outstanding team player.

Catherine Strazzeri – Bell Clerk
Catherine currently works at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. In the spirit of A‘o (To Learn, to Share), Catherine brings exceptional value to the team with her vast knowledge of the Hawaiian culture and talent in creating the ideal guest experience. Her compassion and caring attitude towards our guests has earned her many compliments. Catherine is a hardworking team player, who willingly takes on additional responsibilities.

Lauren Cole – Guest Services Agent
Lauren, who currently works for the Outrigger Twin Towns Resort, is known for her ability to meet or exceed every customer’s needs and expectations. She exemplifies our value of Kina‘ole (Flawlessness), as she is always willing to take on extra work and makes sure she gets the job done in the right way, the first time. Lauren is a hardworking Mea Ho‘okipa (Host), who is known for her smile and dedication. She is an invaluable member of our ‘ohana.

Reynaldo Orpilla – General Maintenance
Reynaldo, who currently works at the Waikiki Shore Resort, continually demonstrates his willingness to go above and beyond his work duties. He is very dependable, efficient, and dedicated. With many years of experience, he is an invaluable resource and can be counted on to complete assignments the right way, the first time. Reynaldo has a great eye for detail and a proactive nature — he truly is the epitome of hard work and dedication.

Lanieza Garcia – Guest Service Representative
Lani, who currently works at the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa, is a wonderful Mea Ho‘okipa (Host). She is extremely guest-oriented and always makes it a priority to exceed our guests’ expectations. Lani is also very versatile and always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She takes pride in her job and makes recommendations when she sees opportunities for improvement. Lani is a true asset to our team and our company.

Sonia Damaso – Housekeeper
Sonia currently works at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach, where her commitment to providing our guests with top- quality service has earned her many compliments. Sonia makes it a point to recognize guests and to call them by name. She always does her job with Kina‘ole (Flawlessness) and Aloha. As dedicated as Sonia is, she takes the time to donate blood at Outrigger-sponsored blood drives and participates in the Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk.

Denis O’Brien – Senior Reservations Sales Agent
Denis, who currently works at the Outrigger Worldwide Contact Center in Colorado, does an exceptional job of assisting our guests with their reservations. Whether determining which property would best suit their vacation needs, or answering all the questions they may have, he does it all with Aloha. Denis is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and goes above and beyond to ensure our guests have a great experience. His strengths in these areas have earned him numerous guest compliments.

Richard Arruda – Maintenance Tech
Richard, who currently works at the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation Resort, is known for his ability to step up to the plate in a time of need. In a short period of time, he has shown great leadership ability. Richard provides excellent follow-through to ensure projects are completed on time and thoroughly. He possesses a pleasant personality and is always willing to lend a helping hand.

Diana Pai – Revenue Management Coordinator
Diana, who currently works at the Keauhou Beach Resort, is known for her attention to detail, dedication, and thoroughness. Her genuine warmth and generosity is apparent to everyone who meets her. As a Revenue Coordinator, she is constantly working on group reservations to ensure a smooth operation from pre-arrival to departure. Diana is a great example of our value Kina‘ole (Flawlessness), as she always takes pride in her work and ensures the work is done right the first time.

Jojelyn Cabulera – Resort Accountant
Jojo, who currently works in the Accounting department for the Outrigger Condominium Collection, lives our value of A‘o (To Learn, to Share). She continues to improve her performance and is eager to gain more knowledge in her field. Jojo takes great pride in her work and can always be counted on to make recommendations to improve operational efficiency. Aside from being a fast learner, Jojo really shines with her caring and helpful attitude and Aloha Spirit.

Lance Sugiyama – Bell Person
Lance, who currently works at the OHANA Waikiki Malia, provides our guests with outstanding customer service and strives for Kina‘ole (Flawlessness) in all he does. Always willing to learn (A‘o), Lance took the opportunity to be train in the Guest Services and Night Auditor areas, allowing him to assist those departments when needed. Lance is an invaluable member of our ‘ohana, who shares his Aloha with everyone he meets.

John Miyashita – Bell Person
John, who currently works at the Embassy Suites® – Waikiki Beach Walk®, is a fine example of our value of Kina‘ole (Flawlessness) — doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, for the right reason. He embodies all of the values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a and is a team player who willingly helps out wherever needed. John is a hard worker who is well-respected by his coworkers and supervisors.

Noemi Gungab – Housekeeper
Noemi, who currently works at the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk, is a 31-year Outrigger veteran. She is very reliable and dependable and is always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Noemi’s top priority is guest satisfaction. She is quick to fulfill guest requests and always provides service with a smile. She reflects the values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a in all she does and is a great asset to the ‘ohana.

Anna Katrina Bermoro – Front Desk Clerk
Anna, who currently works at the Kona Hawaiian Resort, lives the values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a! She shows her Aloha by welcoming our guests with her warm, friendly smile and by going the extra mile to ensure they feel special and appreciated. She is dependable and always a joy to work with — she brightens everyone’s day with her smile. A true team player, Anna can always be counted on to assist wherever needed.

Reynold Carnate – Interior Maintenance
Rey, who currently works at the Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff, is known for the quantity and quality of his workmanship. He takes great pride in his work and practices the values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a, especially Kina‘ole (Flawlessness). Rey is a great problem-solver — he plans his approach for tackling any challenge, thereby increasing his efficiency and minimizing wasted time, materials, and effort.

Athaya Chuaymuang – Telephone Host
Khun Aom, who currently works at the Outrigger Serenity Terraces Resort Phuket, is known for her Aloha Spirit. Her positive attitude, determination, hard work, and exceptional skills are valuable assets to the property. She a team player who willingly shares her knowledge with others — A‘o (To Learn, to Share). An accomplished dancer, Khun Aom performed in two recent events at the resort — Loy Kratong and New Year’s Eve — to the delight of our guests.

Robert Watase – Bell Person
Robert Watase currently works at the OHANA Waikiki Beachcomber. He is committed to our values of Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a and demonstrates our value of Equality (Kaulike) by treating everyone with respect. Robert shows his Aloha by welcoming our guests with his warm, friendly smile and positive attitude. When challenges arise, Robert sees them as an opportunity to learn and makes suggestions on how to improve the department.
