Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation was voted “Kaua‘i’s Best Place to Work.” The MidWeek Kaua‘i’s Best Awards gives readers an opportunity to let everyone know who their favorite businesses are. Thousands of readers cast their votes in May, and Kiahuna was honored “Best Place to Work.” It is a tribute to Outrigger’s Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a values and mission statement. Outrigger truly allows employees the opportunity to be their best, while working as a family in harmony with the culture and environment of the places where we do business.
In addition, the Moir Gardens received the honor of “Kaua‘i’s Best Garden.” The Moir Gardens surround the old plantation manager’s home, which now houses the resort lobby. Numerous cactus planted in the 1930s continue to thrive in the arid, rocky soil. Water lily-filled lava rock ponds, koi, and a variety of historical artifacts enhance the gardens. In recent years, the Grounds Staff has planted a variety of orchids, many of which were gifts from owners, guests, and staff. The Moir Gardens, also known as Pā‘ū a Laka, after the Hawaiian goddess of hula, are lovingly cared for by the Grounds department.
Also taking third place in the “Kaua‘i’s Best Hotel/Resort,” Outrigger Kiahuna placed just behind the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort & Beach Club and the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa. We are privileged to be ranked among such prestigious resorts.
