Outrigger on the Lagoon – Fiji (FOR) March Get Together

The Reef meeting rooms were packed with Staff, Managers, and Executives gathered to honour outstanding employees for the month of March. The event opened with a beautiful prayer by Eddie Liwaiono. Resort Manager Jason Zvatora welcomed everyone with a Big Bula greeting and thanked everyone for incredible dedication and hard work this past month. He reported that in 2009, March occupancy was 44% and this year was 72%! He was excited to advise of the 97,000 people who rated the FOR on AAA as excellent, with a score of 97.5%, because of our Bula Spirit, friendliness, and big smiles. He also announced the arrival of the group Society of American Travel Writers this month. Jason congratulated the Netball Team for taking part in the Coral Coast Netball Tournament in which the girls’ team came in runners-up, while the mixed team made it to the quarter finals. Jason added that the FOR Nadroga Rugby Team is playing most of their games here at Lawaqa, so he encouraged everyone to support the team, as house guests look forward to going with vuvale to cheer and watch the excitement.

Praveena Dewan presented the Bebe Community Project update, which was to beautify Sigatoka Town by painting the bus station, all the rubbish bins, and walls with bright colours. They also landscaped and cleaned up the gardens. Alipate Varea announced the Bula Spirit Vouchers, and recipients participated in the dart game for prizes.

The get-together concluded with the Heads or Tails competition won by Apisai Sekamate and afternoon tea with assorted sweets.
