The Outrigger on the Lagoon – Fiji (FOR) held its monthly Get Together on October 30 to honor the outstanding employees for the month of October; recognize those who went the extra mile to help those in our community; celebrate the 9th Anniversary of the FOR; and congratulate members of our vuvale (family) who celebrated birthdays.

General Manager Darren Shaw thanked everyone for their commitment during this challenging and very busy month. He said he was very proud of the vuvale for working together to give our guests the highest level of service, complete with the Bula Spirit.

The Kitchen Staff was recognized for their Community Project and Bula Spirit for cleaning up and painting the kitchen at Sigatoka Hospital and for cooking a wonderful meal for the patients.

Continuing education and on-going training has always been a vital part of the FOR’s success. Darren Shaw was pleased to acknowledge three employees who have recently traveled overseas for training to increase their knowledge in their respective areas: Tepola Natadra went to Hawaii; Raj Kuma traveled to Hawaii and Guam; and Praveena Dewan visited Brisbane and Tepola.

The Talia (Butler) service the FOR offers has been very well-received by our guests. To ensure continued guest satisfaction, as well as elevating the level of service provided, the FOR brought in a trainer from Australia.

Everyone joined together to welcome two new members of the vuvale—Sales Manager Miss Lesieli Vete and Restaurant Duty Manager Miss Litia Tikoduadua.
