It is with pleasure that I share the exciting news that Waikiki Beach Walk has received a prestigious Design and Development Award from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The award was presented on December 3 at the ICSC’s 32nd International Design and Development Awards gala ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona. I was honored to accept the award on behalf of Waikiki Beach Walk and Outrigger Enterprises Group. Joining me was Ron Altoon of the architectural firm Altoon + Porter Design Architects, LLP, who oversaw the overall design of the project. Read the rest of this entry

The 24th Annual Law Enforcement & Security Appreciation Luncheon was held on October 30, with 400 Law Enforcement and Security Officers and supporters in attendance. Hawaii’s United States Attorney Edward H. Kubo Jr. gave the keynote speech. The theme for the luncheon was the ongoing and continually increasing collaboration between Law Enforcement Agencies and Private Security. Thirty officers from Federal, Military, County, and Private Industry received awards for being their respective agency’s “Top Cop.”

This award will join the Governor’s Ho‘okela Award for Exemplary Service that Barbara won last year at the annual Retail Merchants of Hawaii luncheon.
