The Outrigger Way—Global Culture, Regional Celebrations
By Kaipo Ho
We recently concluded our 2010-2011 series of the Six Paddles Process, and to say it was a successful journey would be putting it mildly. It was, in fact, a stellar achievement, by so many of our Outrigger ‘ohana to celebrate our company’s values. In conjunction with our 2010 Po‘okela Excellence in Leadership Awards in May, we presented our first annual Outrigger Way Awards and recognized Outrigger’s Alaka‘i and their hotel and Company Services teams for their creative efforts to perpetuate Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a – The Outrigger Way. Eleven Alaka‘i teams received well-deserved koa paddles engraved with special inscriptions honoring their achievements.

It’s a “Slam Dunk” for Outrigger and Fox Sports Radio
By Nancy Daniels
Whether traveling to Hawai‘i for a few days, a few weeks, or an extended period, visitors to our islands are looking for extraordinary experiences and unforgettable memories. I am happy to report that a very special group of visitors to the Outrigger Reef on the Beach last month received that and much more thanks to an exciting promotional partnership between Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, Los Angeles radio station KCLA, and FOX Sports Radio Network, that garnered the company more than a half a million dollars in advertising and web placement value.

Garden Isle Kicks Off Charity Walk
The Charity Walk on Kaua‘i was held this past Saturday, May 14, as hundreds gathered at the Historic County Building to walk and raise money to benefit Hawai‘i’s charities. Despite the dismal weather, the spirit of giving back to Kaua‘i’s communities was uplifting. Following the walk, our ‘ohana and their family, and friends were rewarded with a gourmet “Breakfast of Aloha” prepared by some of Kauai’s finest hotels. According to HawaiiNewsNow.com, the event raised $136,000, with every cent going to Garden Isle charities. More Charity Walk photos will be featured in the next two issues of Saturday Briefing.
