Congratulations to Elizabeth Cambra on her graduation from The Pacific Fellows (PCF) Program class of 2008!  This program is modeled after the White House Fellows Program and founded by Mayor Mufi Hannemann. Elizabeth was nominated by Jeannie Rolles and chosen based on a written application and personal interview conducted by a blue-ribbon panel of judges. Considerations for acceptance included educational background, current career responsibilities, special achievements, involvement in community activities, communication skills, and strength of character. Those chosen showed the judges strong intellectual and leadership abilities in the early and mid-stages of their careers, with the potential to make significant contributions to the community in the future. Sun Bee

Please join me and the Human Resources department in congratulating Sun Bee on her new position with the Interactive Commerce department. With the start of the New Year, Sun has stepped into a new role as Director, Online Distribution and Marketing and is now responsible for managing and optimizing Outrigger’s online marketing across media platforms and for improving company performance and return on investment through all online channels.

Governors, and afterwards, some of the attendees and I traveled to Laos for a quick look at that beautiful country. I had carefully planned to leave the group two days early (November 24) so I could enjoy Thanksgiving with my family in Honolulu. All my good plans went for naught, however, as I got caught in the Bangkok airport mess and was stranded for five extra days, trying every which way to leave Thailand and get home. Sixteen butlers (Talai) at the Outrigger on the Lagoon - Fiji recently completed an intensive two-week training course conducted by the Australian Butler School. The course covered many areas of guest service, including arrivals and departures, guest relations, valet service, in-room dining, and the very popular Sundown Service of champagne and canapés. Neil Murakami

It is with pleasure that I join Human Resources in congratulating Neil Murakami on his promotion as the new General Manager of the Wyndham Vacation Ownership-Waikiki Beach Walk.

Neil’s hospitality career started in 1992 at the OHANA Waikiki Beachcomber hotel, where he earned much of his experience and climbed the ladder to become the Front Office Manager in 2005.
