Production in China

Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk® Celebrates Paddle 2 in Conjunction with New Lobby Unveiling
BY SHANNON YADON — On Friday, April 13, the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk Resort celebrated the opening of their newly renovated lobby. Tiffani ‘Napualei’ Saunders led a cultural ceremony and blessing including the ceremonial untying of Maile lei. The Hawaiian story of the Naupaka flower, which served as an inspirational muse in the design of the lobby, was shared with all those in attendance. Guests could see carvings of the flower on the new front desk and the actual plant housed in planters around the resort. This ‘ohana-style celebration invited resort employees and in-house guests to share in the ceremony and a social mixer, with sparkling cider and Naupaka-decorated cupcakes, that followed. Embassy Suites® – Waikiki Beach Walk® Recycles TVs and Dressers

To meet current brand standards at Embassy Suites®, Hilton Worldwide’s Product Improvement Plan (PIP) requires installation of new 37” LCD TVs in each suite parlor and bedroom. That’s a total of 806 new TVs! What to do with 806 existing 26” flat screen TVs was a question for the Projects department. Based on past history when Projects would move new furniture into a hotel, remove the old furniture and install it in another hotel, it didn’t take long before we found hotels in the ‘ohana in need of some new TVs. The OHANA Waikiki West, OHANA Waikiki East and OHANA Waikiki Malia hotels were eager to purchase the 26” flat screen TVs which are an upgrade from what they currently have. St. Patrick’s Day is all about green and celebrations, and the team at the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk® celebrated in its own green way with a special recognition ceremony by Governor Neil Abercrombie for the 2011 Green Business Program.

Fresh organic vegetables are known to promote health and wellbeing. Healthy persons have more vitality, fewer missed days of work, and less visits to costly health care providers. Imagine being able to walk a short twenty steps to harvest fresh greens, tomatoes, carrots, onions, and cucumbers for a salad at lunchtime!
