Each year, the Outrigger Reef on the Beach and Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach offer a wide variety of free activities and island-style holiday events ranging from Hawaiian Christmas Crafts to picture taking with Santa Claus. Two of the more popular events are the Outrigger Reef’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and the annual visit by Santa Claus.

Outrigger’s traditional holiday kick-off event, the Tree Lighting Ceremony, is a free event that includes Hawaiian Christmas caroling by the Kaleoaloha Keiki Choir and refreshments. The event is scheduled for December 1, 2008, at 6 p.m. in the front lobby of the Outrigger Reef. Santa will visit the Outrigger Reef on December 23 at 9 a.m., and you will have the opportunity to have your photo taken with him courtesy of Makana Trading Co.

Children of all ages enjoy Santa Claus’ annual vacation stop at Waikiki Beach. Jolly Kris Kringle will paddle his way onto shore fronting the Outrigger Waikiki on December 13 at 9 a.m., where he will be greeted by lively Hawaiian music and hula dancers, followed by picture-taking in the Outrigger Waikiki lobby.
