Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk® — BY SHARI TACHIBANA AND ANNA LAU
Easter is a celebration of Christ’s resurrection; however, over time and in tradition, it has become significant to the celebration of springtime. The rabbit and the egg have become symbols of fertility, abundance and new life.
At Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk®, Easter was about having fun and sharing. The housekeeping department began their day by exchanging cookies and candies and concluded their special briefing with a warm-up game of Musical Bunny, where everyone had fun, especially lucky winner Narita Fangon.
The highlight was that our guests were able to enjoy “Easter Sunday Funday” activities that included complimentary face painting and shaved ice in the courtyard. In addition, all resort hosts were given bags of eggs filled with candy to hand out to the keiki (children) staying at the resort.
It was certainly a day of energy, joy and laughter.
Kiahuna Plantation Resort Kauai by Outrigger® — BY MARIANNE THESKEN
As the sun rose over Hale o Ia Bay, Kiahuna hosts welcomed guests and owners to the great lawn to celebrate Easter. Following an Easter Service with the Koloa Union Church Hula Ministry, Kiahuna hosts got busy hiding hundreds of eggs for the keiki (children). As the keiki waited patiently for the egg hunt to begin, the Easter Bunny made a special guest appearance that made for some great photo opps. Shortly after, hosts led the keiki to their appropriate hunting ground where several of the youngsters found golden eggs.
The event complemented our Paddle 1 activities, Our Values as Our Guide, by focusing on Na Mea Hookipa (welcoming our guests), Ohana (celebrating with family), Wahi (sharing our beautiful resort) and Aloha (spreading our love).
