BY RORY CAMPBELL — After successfully kicking off a partnership with Watkeerewongkaram School late last year for Children’s Day, the Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort team again joined with children, parents and friends to commence the school refurbishment program on Saturday 20th February.

Phase one required a 350-meter boundary wall to be cleaned, repaired and repainted. In hot conditions, about 20 of the team, alongside nearly 20 children, parents and staff, set about the task of cleaning walls, concreting sections that needed repair and applying two coats of paint to the entire wall around the school. While the wall project may not be the most significant aspect in the program, the upgrade in the overall facilities will ensure the children of the community can learn and share experiences in a safe, clean and professional environment.

Phase two will see attention turn to the canteen and bathroom areas with upgrades to water and sanitation being at the forefront.

Thanks to all the team who braved hot conditions to further exemplify The Outrigger Way.
