Once again, Outrigger has made someone’s dream come true—a dream of a perfect escape to beautiful Hawaii.

Last May, as part of the launch of our new, innovative travel destination Web site, OutriggerHawaii.com, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts sponsored a contest with Conde Nast Traveler magazine, urging readers to submit a unique eight-day itinerary of the Hawaiian Islands. The winner would receive an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii and the chance to make their fantasy come alive.

Michelle Macauley of Atlanta, Georgia, won our contest with the most amazing and unique entry. She submitted her dream vacation itinerary in rhyme! Michelle’s creativity was electrifying enough to make any local-Hawaii resident envious of her eight-day adventure bounding between Oahu, the Island of Hawaii, and Kauai.

Michelle and her husband John arrived in Hawaii on April 17 and were pleasantly surprised when they arrived at our newly-renovated Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Instantly greeted by General Manager Bill Comstock, they were whisked away to their oceanfront room, where they prepared themselves for a vacation of a lifetime. The next three days were filled with gorgeous sunsets, long open-air drives to the North Shore, and celebrated dinners.

Next stop – the Big Island of Hawaii. Michelle and John were thrilled with their exclusive two-bedroom oceanfront suite at the Keauhou Beach Resort. However, they didn’t get to spend much time in it because of all the activities they had signed up for. They rented snorkeling gear and dove into the pristine waters of Kahalu‘u Bay, where they discovered the distinctive marine life of Hawaii. Lava tubes and more glorious dinners accompanied their short two-day stay on the Island of Hawaii.

Last, but not least, Kauai. From zip-lining over the Garden Isle’s lush valleys, to exploring the awe-inspiring Napali Coast, to experiencing an authentic Hawaiian luau, Michelle and John were struck by the beauty of Kauai. The Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation gave Michelle and John the perfect island atmosphere and grandest of hospitality, closing this special island escape far better than they had ever dreamed possible.
