Outrigger Hotels & Resorts is proud to be the only hotel sponsor of the inaugural XTERRA Trail Running World Championship to be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at Kualoa Ranch on the northeastern side of Oahu. The spectacular Kualoa Ranch will provide the perfect scenic backdrop for runners from all over the world as they begin this adventurous off-road course in Kaaawa Valley starting at 9 a.m. 

This first-ever gathering of international trail runners will provide the ultimate Hawaiian experience for both visitors and locals alike. Participants will have the choice to race in the championship 21km event, the 5km, or 10km trail runs, or journey on the 5km adventure walk.

For avid runners, the XTERRA, known for its extreme off road trail runs and triathlons all over the world, willserve as a prelude to the Honolulu Marathon to be held on December 14. Participants wanting to join in the fun without the competitive edge can enjoy the less treacherous 10k and 5k course, as well as Kids K. There will also be a Kids Zone area filled with fun outdoor challenges, food tents, and various exhibits, as well as live music.

Waikiki Beach Walk® will serve as the venue for registration and packet pick-up starting on Friday, December 5, from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. through Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m.
