Executive Chef William Trask, along with his culinary crew at the Keauhou Beach Resort, implemented a special Halloween event with employee and guest participation.
The lobby was decorated with a festive Halloween Haunted House, created by our Breakfast Cook Ed Kawewehi; a creepy Halloween tree, built by our very own Josh Danao from Maintenance; and a Pumpkin Patch displayed, with carved pumpkins made by employees. Guests and Kama‘aina were able to judge for their favorite carved pumpkin and “Trick O’ Treat” from an array of goodies and homemade cookies made by our bake shop. Kumu Keala Ching also took part in the Halloween festivities and did his spooky “Night Trails,” taking guests on a night safari through the resort. Participants heard history of the Keauhou Beach Resort and legendary stories of old Hawaii. The next day, we had guests asking the Front Desk who won the Pumpkin
Carving Contest; they were very excited for our employees who won first place—Maile Cawagas and Maui Akeo. We look forward doing this event again next year!
