The Outrigger on the Lagoon - Fiji (FOR) held a Blood Drive on Thursday, March 19, in the Bebe Spa Sanctuary. The FOR vuvale (family), from management to staff, from off-duty to on-duty, turned out to give the “Gift of Life.” At the end of the day, the Lautoka Hospital Blood Bank Staff managed to collect 13 pints of blood, which will save many lives.
In addition to the Blood Drive, the FOR vuvale held a clothing and toy drive. Employees brought in slightly-used items that were collected by the Red Cross and distributed to those in the community who are less fortunate.
Their fundraising efforts didn’t stop there. Bebe Spa Manager Praveena Dewan and her staff arranged a special curry chicken lunch for only $1 a plate, with all money going to the needy. Praveena and her staff also volunteered their time to paint the playground, gates, and the fence at the Sigatoka School for Special Education on Monday March 23, Fiji Youth Day. They brought fruit, ice cream, juice, and lollipops as treats for the children - bringing smiles to many faces!
General Manager Darren Shaw thanked the FOR for their incredible generosity and stated that their Bula Spirit and commitment to their community is what makes the Outrigger on the Lagoon - Fiji a great place to work.
