The Ghoul Times Roll at Spooktacular Mahalo Party

By Burton Kong

The serene side of Waikīkī was recently rocked by a hauntingly delightful Pacific Business Connection (PBC) Mahalo Party and Trade Show. The October 27 Halloween-themed event was held at Outrigger Luana Waikiki to unveil the refreshed property and to thank PBC members and local ground handlers for their business.

Outrigger Enterprises Group staff gave guests cauldrons of spooktacular treats, including live entertainment, made-to-order Kats Sushi, mini hand massages and nail art sessions by Ville de Coco day spa, and a delicious buffet created by the new Protea Café. The new boutique restaurant unveiled a sumptuous menu that included kalua pork quesadillas, chicken satay with peanut sauce, bruschetta, pizza, and mini reuben slides.

Partygoers received spellbinding door prizes that included gift cards to Waikiki Beach Walk® restaurants and complimentary room nights at Outrigger, OHANA, and Outrigger-affiliated hotels. The highlight of the evening was the awarding of two grand prizes consisting of round-trip interisland airfare for two and two-night stays at Outrigger Fairway Villas and Outrigger Palms at Wailea. Congratulations to John Holmes of AT&T and William Gibson of the Hawaii Medical Center.

A big mahalo to Tom “Rastaman” Wakita and Milton “Medieval Knight” Lafitaga for doing a great job as emcees. Special thanks to Nurhan Enustun for working her catering magic to ensure a freakin’ fun event.
