Outrigger Serenity Terraces Pre-opening Update

By Pieter Van Der Hoeven

Exciting things have been happening at the Outrigger Serenity Terraces (TST)! An Orientation was held for the employees and managers where the history of Outrigger was shared, along with our local adaptation of the Ke ‘Ano Wa‘a Values: Mittrapab. Mittrapab means friendship and stands for:

Motivation
Integrity and Pride
Teamwork
Tradition
Respect
Acceptance
Practicality
Attitude
Baan (Home)

We also had the first opportunity for a group photo, with everyone dressed in their pre-opening uniforms. Last week, the staff canteen, Hale ‘Ohana, was the first “outlet” of the resort to go live. The food already has an outstanding reputation, and the local community has been asking if they can dine there! Our highest accolades to Chef Louis and his team!

Alan White and John Neeley, from Outrigger’s Corporate Office in Honolulu, recently visited TST to help set up our link to Stellex. We were delighted to hear their overwhelmingly positive comments about the great attitude of our Thai ‘ohana–their friendliness and willingness to help and learn. Thanks to Alan and John and their teams for their assistance in ensuring we are “connected” to our home base in Hawaii.

Reservations for the first month look good, and we hope that ‘ohana from other properties will come and visit this newest addition to the Outrigger family! The team is in place and ready to welcome their first guest on April 2, 2009.
