Outrigger Australia Announces Two Management Moves

I join Human Resources in congratulating two members of Outrigger’s Australia team who have taken on news responsibilities.

Kris Nickelsen has transferred from Cairns to Australia’s Sunshine Coast to take up the position of General Manager at the Outrigger Mooloolaba International Beach Resort. Since making the move from Hawaii to Australia a year ago, Kris has done a tremendous job establishing the newly-opened Outrigger Cairns Resort in the lucrative North Queensland tourist market. He looks forward to bringing that same success to his new post in Mooloolaba.

Stepping into the top position at the Outrigger Cairns Resort is Russell Birrell, formerly the resort’s Assistant General Manager. Russell came to Outrigger from Wild World-The Tropical Zoo, a noted Cairns family tourist attraction. He also has extensive experience in the hotel industry, having worked for seven years at the Matson Plaza Hotel, where he developed several new procedures to streamline the hotel’s operations.
