After a heroic battle with cancer, Mr. Eddie Hoopai passed away on November 14. Since 1985, Eddie provided massage therapy services to many visitors and local residents in a small and quaint office located at OHANA Waikiki Village Hotel. Eddie truly had magic hands. Many loyal clients had regularly scheduled massage appointments with Eddie and he had a reputation of being a truly dedicated professional in his field. Eddie once told me that everyday he came to work, he asked himself, “How many people can I help today?” His granddaughter, Kristi is continuing his massage practice offering a variety of massage types, including lomi lomi, shiatsu and Swedish massage.
We send our condolences to Eddie’s family and friends. His enthusiasm and cheery smile will surely be missed and we are comforted to know that Kristi will carry on his legacy.
