Soft Opening for First Outrigger Resort in New Zealand

This week marks another milestone for Outrigger’s ongoing expansion throughout the Pacific region, with the “soft” opening of phase one of Outrigger Queenstown At The Beacon, in Queenstown, New Zealand. The completion of this new “holiday gift” for visitors to Queenstown is the result of many months of working closely with the developer, Wensley Developments, and signals a timely opening for the busy holiday season!

Located on a spectacular lakefront site on Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand’s southern alps, stage one of Outrigger’s newest resort will offer 37 luxurious studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. Stage two is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2004 and will bring The Beacon’s total inventory to 107 units.

Needless to say, General Manager Ken Harris, and his new management team, including Christine McWilliam (Controller, and Outrigger veteran as former Controller at Outrigger Marshall Islands Resort), Jamie O’Donnell (Front Office Manager), and Sonia Calder (Executive Housekeeper), will have a busy holiday season opening the newest addition to Outrigger’s growing family of Pacific resorts.
