Valentine’s Day Vow Renewal Ceremony

Love was definitely in the air on Tuesday, February 14, as guests of the Outrigger Waikiki and Outrigger Reef celebrated Valentine’s Day on the beach at our Hawaiian Vow Renewal Ceremony. ,

Thirty-five couples with love in their hearts participated in the touching ceremony. For just that moment, the sky was clear of clouds, the wind was gently blowing, and the ocean, oh yes, the ocean, made the perfect backdrop to this special ceremony.

Kahu (Reverend) Zosimo Arista presided over the ceremony, which began with a hula performed by Kawena. Kahu Arista then blessed the couples who recited specially-written vows. Instead of the traditional kiss, the couples embraced in a traditional Hawaiian Honi (touching of the forehead and nose). The ceremony concluded with a pule (prayer) and a final hula.

Following the ceremony, each couple had a complimentary photo taken by Outrigger Reef Photo and enjoyed a glass of champagne in celebration of many more years together.
