Congratulations to this year’s Hawaii Grammy winner Daniel Ho and the Musicians on Treasures of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar.
On Friday, February 8, Outrigger invited media and clients to enjoy the melodic sounds of Hawaii’s nominees at Hollywood’s famed Roosevelt Hotel- Cinegrill Restaurant. Attendees were greeted with a Pua Olena drink created by Bob Melton of Chuck’s Steakhouse in a contest sponsored by Signature Travel.
Cyril Pahinui opened the show, followed by actress/singer Tia Carrere and the Treasures of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar entertainers Daniel Ho, George Kahumoku, Keoki Kahumoku, Garrett Probst, Peter deAquino, and Sterling Seaton. In a special to the Star Bulletin, writer Ed Rampell wrote that the Cinegrill was transformed into a “Tinseltown Territorial Tavern.”
Working closely with the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, earlier in the week we met with additional media in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The Hawaii Grammy nominees performed to standing-room-only audiences at Borders Sacramento, San Francisco, Orange County, and Torrance stores. The fresh orchid lei provided by Oahu Visitors Bureau and Hawaiian Airlines were the perfect gift for all who attended.
