BY DONNA PARKIN — Freelance Travel Writer Tiana Templeman journeyed to Australia’s Northern Territory to win the Best Family Travel Story category sponsored by Outrigger Resorts at the 2014 Australian Society of Travel Writers’ Awards for Excellence held in Fiji on Nov. 1.
Travelling in a campervan with her husband and 9-year-old son, Tiana spent a week visiting Kakadu National Park, Nitmiluk Gorge, Yellow Water billabong and Katherine and Lichfield National Park.

Coincidentally, Tiana had just returned from a journalist’s famil to Fiji’s Outrigger on the Lagoon • Fiji (FOR) and Castaway Island, Fiji (FCI) when she was named winner of the Best Family Travel Story award.
The prize included three nights at FOR and three nights at FCI, a couples massage at Bebe Spa Sanctuary and South Sea Cruises transfers.
“I absolutely loved both resorts, and I’m looking forward to enjoying the Outrigger Resorts prize with my family,” she said.
