BY DONNA PARKIN — “Honesty isn’t simply the best policy, it’s the only way to build a successful organization,” said Halley Bock, president and CEO of Fierce, INC, a global leadership development and training company.

Castaway Island, Fiji had the privilege to see this stand-up quality recently when host Edwina Prasad, a masseuse at the resort’s day spa, returned a diamond necklace accidentally left by a guest who received treatment at the spa.

Unable to recall where her diamond necklace may have been misplaced, the guest insisted on giving a generous tip to Edwina for her honesty when it was returned to her.

General Manager Steven Andrews commended Edwina for her integrity and presented a certificate of recognition, along with a voucher for dinner at Restaurant 1808 for two.

“I am resolute when it comes to honesty and am so very proud that our hosts believe that a culture of honesty creates the best working environment,” said Steven.

Vinaka vakalevu, Edwina, for highlighting the bula spirit.
