BY DARREN EDMONSTONE – I am pleased to join Human Resources in welcoming Jennifer Obregon as director of human resources for the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort and Meli Titoko as the sales and marketing manager for Castaway Island, Fiji to the Outrigger ‘ohana.
Jeny took her new position on May 24 at the property and reports to acting General Manager, Chris Ely.
Jeny brings with her 18 years of human resources and training experience, much of it in the Maldives. Prior to joining Outrigger, she was with Viceroy Hotels and Resorts (in Turkey and Maldives). She spent three years as director of human resources with Four Seasons, 10 months with Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa and 18 months with the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, all in the beautiful Maldives.
Along the way, Jeny was a hotel industry training manager and HR consultant in the Philippines, Vietnam, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering, Jeny added a wide range of certifications in HR disciplines such as interviewing, appraisals, budget training, performance review management, group training and service leadership, to name a few.
A qualified scuba rescue diver who knows the Maldives waters well, Jeny is also an aspiring novelist with a work in progress. She is a big fan of authors J.K. Rowling and Christine Feehan as well as Angelina Jolie and Keanu Reeves (due to the Matrix).
Jeny’s motto is carpe diem – seize the day. She is also a passionate foodie who loves street food and says she could “eat sushi all day.”
Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort has its own Teppan grill as well as being surrounded by spectacular seawater for diving, so Jeny will feel right at home.

Castaway Island looks forward to benefiting from Meli’s expertise in this area. He will also work closely with the Sydney Regional Sales Office in achieving set targets.
Meli describes himself as a focused and self-driven professional with proven expertise in account management, business development and sales and marketing.
His hobbies include photography, volleyball, movies and spending time with his family.
