BY KATHY OYADOMARI — On Dec. 21 we bid thanks and a warm aloha to Rose Galiza, who retired after 25 years of service.
In 1990, Rose started in housekeeping at the Outrigger Maile Sky Court and later transferred to the Embassy Suites® – Waikiki Beach Walk® (ESH).
Dr. Chuck Kelley, Bitsy Kelley, Barry Wallace, Ruthann Yamanaka, Bob Yeoman and fellow hosts of ESH celebrated with Rose and and presented her with gifts of aloha.
Rose joined her son’s CrossFit program and plans to keep in shape. She also will be busy taking care of her grandchildren and senior family members.
Rose shared the following speech with the ESH ohana:
“First of all, I would like to thank the Kelley family for founding Outrigger, which is where I have worked for 25 years. I’ve met a lot of wonderful employees and guests during my time here and have learned and grown professionally.
“I would like to thank Bob Yeoman and Reid Yoshida for taking good care of ESH. I would also like to thank Marsha [Kapu] for always making our workplace a festive environment by organizing celebrations.
“I am thankful for Carol [Lopes], Ofelia [Valdez], Nida [Lumantas] and Jane [Chen] for handling the Housekeeping department and for encouraging us to help each other and to work as a team.
“Thank you to the front desk and maintenance staff for always being a huge support and help during the evenings.
“Lastly, thank you to all of my co-workers for your friendship, good laughs and support. I will miss you all and hope to see you in the future. God bless.”
On Jan. 5 David Carey and Dr. Chuck Kelley joined the Investor Services team to bid a warm aloha to Lois Endo who retired with 25 years of service.
Lois most recently worked in Investor Services and her many contributions will be missed.
With thanks and well wishes, we bid our fondest aloha to Rose and Lois.
