BY STEVE SOLBERG — The winners for Host, Manager and Team of the Quarter for the third quarter were announced at our Host Quarterly Meeting on Monday, Oct. 17.
The objective of the Outrigger Guam Beach Resort recognition program is to formally recognize and award hosts, managers and teams who demonstrate outstanding acts and behaviors, which exemplify outstanding care for our business, our guests and our Hosts. Each award is chosen based on the Outrigger Guam Beach Resort core values of Flawlessness, Equality, To Learn and to Share, Hosts, Family, Place, Accountability, Love and Compassion. Hosts, managers and teams are nominated by their peers.
HOST OF THE QUARTER
Joy Advincula – Joy consistently demonstrates the value of Angokko (Trust). She ensures that purchase orders are followed upon. She always gives options when problems arise. Our success is dependent upon her quick action toward the goal at hand. She always puts business first and talk later. She consistently displays a positive attitude at work.
MANAGER OF THE QUARTER
Jenny Costes – During a manager’s emergency leave, Jenny rose to the challenge and took charge of all the functions and responsibilities normally performed by that person in order to complete closing. She worked under a great deal of pressure; however, she managed to support the department and the staff to meet all deadlines with courage and discipline. We are grateful for her loyalty and her commitment to excellence.
TEAM OF THE QUARTER
Taotao Guma – In August, the 2016 Host Summer Picnic was well executed by the TTG Committee. The committee was able to work with HR to come up with a fun-filled agenda of activities, games, and prizes for all hosts and their families to enjoy. Months and weeks before the picnic, the committee met on a weekly basis to carefully plan out the theme, food and beverage, games for adults and kids, prizes, etc. The committee received a great response from hosts, with over 300 hosts and family in attendance. After the picnic, all we heard were positive things about the picnic and how much fun it was! Great job to the committee!
