BY AMANTE CASTRO — In celebration of Na Mea Hookipa, Ohana and Aloha, (our Paddle 1 for 2017), hosts from the OHANA Waikiki Malia by Outrigger® invited four of our Japan return guests for a potluck and some tennis.

Tomoko and Ikuo Tamiko and Tomoko and Hiroaki Sengoku joined our front office staff at Ala Moana Park for an early evening on and off the court. On the court we enjoyed friendly competition and off the court and on the grill were steak, ribs, chicken, sausage, zucchini and eggplant. Potluck sides were salad, veggies with penne and authentic soba salad. Keeping cool in the coolers were mussel and Hawaiian-style poke and sashimi. Straight from Jollibee were two buckets of fried chicken with gravy, and with it all, a Hawaii and Japan staple…rice.

This event was a combination of generous potluck offerings and fellowship shared with warmth and generosity, a remarkable way for our Malia family to demonstrate Our Mission, The Outrigger Way and our Hospitality Principles.
